Genealogie Michel Vuijlsteke

Dear cousins Daniel, Jonathan, Michael, and Alex,

It was very good to hear from you but it was a very sad week for me because first I received the information about Marc searching in the internet after an email received from our cousin Jonathan and now the second bad news about our cousin Liliane, that pass away last month. I was born in 1946 and I remember that Marc, 1947, because he was one year younger than me and I believe that Liliane was 2 years younger than Marc.

I was in Belgium in 4 different years, 1970, the main reason was Marc wedding, 1971 and 1972, just to visit our family and some vacations, one of these time I went with Liliane and Daniel to Holland and other time we went to Luxemburg. In 1978 I visit once again Brussels and I stayed at Regina and Henry's apartment, I saw Liliane and their two daughters, and I saw Aviva and her son for just few minutes when they went to visit Regina and Henry. At that time Liliane's husband was not in Brussels.

Latter one, around 2007, I went with my wife Nadir and Jonathan with his wife Ingrid for just one day to visit Bruges, we were in a 10 days cruise around British Isles and did not have anymore the family phone numbers from Belgium.

After received Daniels's email today I have already contact our cousin Lenny Fischpan (same as Fiszpan) and he was the son from Adek Fischpan, brother of Joseph Fiszpan and Minka Ballan Fiszpan. I also have already contacted Paul Fiszpan, Jonathan's brother, and he told me that he remember all family from Belgium. By the way in 1972 he was with me driving to Brussels then we went to Holland together with Liliane. That was a different trip than the one that I was with Daniel and Liliane.

About my family my mother Hendla Fiszpan (1921-2009) daughter of Hercko Fiszpan, nice(?) of Nathan Fiszpan, father of Minka, Adek, Joseph, Chaya, and I think another daughter that was killed by the Nazis. I do need to do more research because I think that above Hercko and Nathan we had Abraham Fiszpan. I think the best is to call Minka in Israel. By the way Minka has 2 sons and one daughter, the 2 boys live in Israel and both of them are attorneys. The daughter Anat lives in San Francisco and I have a more often contact because she was here once and I visit her 2 or 3 times in San Francisco. We went also to a cousin's wedding in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

From the original Fiszpans that went to Brazil we have only my uncle Motel (Mauricio) Fiszpan, and he just turned 95 years last July 15th.

Of course we have a lot of Fiszpan ramification in Brazil because when my grand father Hercko left Poland he left with his brother Victor Fischpan (Fiszpan). In Brazil they did translate his name wrong and as you know they did the same with Abek.

I am going to stop for today but be shore that we are going to locate a lot of our family.
